Holiday Celebrations

We celebrate and commemorate the Jewish holidays in ways that are meaningful and engaging for our community. Many are observed on the Shabbat closest to the holiday, giving everyone a chance to participate. On Simchat Torah, we fully unroll the Torah scroll so all can see every word, creating a joyful, interactive celebration. Each year, we gather for a Sukkot meal at a congregant’s home, and for Chanukah, we share a festive dinner where everyone brings their own menorah and lights together, filling the room with warmth, light, and laughter.

2nd Night Passover Seder

Our 2nd Night Seder is a beloved tradition that feels both familiar and joyful. Held at the South County Civic Center, it’s not a buffet—it’s a seated, family-style meal with home-cooked dishes reminiscent of what your grandmother might make, served by attentive wait staff. Participants can follow the Haggadah either in hand or on the screen, enjoying a fully musical experience similar to our Shabbat services. The seder tells the story of the Exodus in a lively, interactive way, with congregants in costume taking on roles like Moses and Miriam. Traditional tunes from childhood mingle with contemporary songs, including Miriam’s Song, and everyone gets to join in with tambourines, making this a celebration that’s both meaningful and fun for all ages.
